Fewer Steps

For business · Hamilton–Niagara

Know what is holding
the work back.

Repeated entry, rebuilt reports, missed details, slow handoffs: we look at the work as it happens. A better process or a well-placed AI tool can save time, improve the result, and help your team take on more.

Start with one bottleneck.

The intake captures how work moves through your business. Share what you know now, or we can work through it together during our first 15-minute call. We find one bottleneck and its cost. I return with one practical recommendation in a separate 15-minute follow-up.

A worked example

See how a recommendation
takes shape.

A weekly report is rebuilt from several files. Here is how the assessment could turn that frustration into a first move.

Find the friction

The report is rebuilt.
The checking starts late.

Information comes from several files. Formatting is repeated. Missing figures are noticed near the deadline.

First question

Which parts need judgment, and which parts are repeated setup?

Optimize · the order matters
  1. 01
Agree one input format.Give each figure a source and an owner.
  2. 02
Check before drafting.Flag missing or inconsistent figures early.
  3. 03
Draft from checked information.Use AI to assist the summary; keep the final review with a person.

Why this comes first: consistent inputs make the checks and the draft more dependable.

Your guide

Hi, I’m Chris.

I’ve spent 30 years in engineering and product development.

  1. AerospaceTurbofan jet
    engines
  2. AutomotiveHeavy-truck chassis
    and suspension
  3. LeadershipInnovation, product
    development and testing

For the past 15 years, I’ve led this work in Hamilton–Niagara, bringing together teams of up to 18 people, including in-house staff and outside suppliers.

That work taught me to follow a process step by step, listen to the people doing it, and find the change that actually helps. I bring the same approach to businesses and households through Fewer Steps.

I use AI where it makes work more useful or reliable. Sometimes a simpler process is the better answer. I don’t resell software or take commissions.
